Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Do I need to buy a coursebook?
All the materials needed are included in the price and tailor-made for each course to suit the group's needs.
2. What is the online portal?
It's the member's area of my website that only students can access. Once you register for a course you will get access to all of the online material, tasks, and pre-recorded videos for your course.
3. How do I get feedback on the online tasks?
For the tasks and quizzes, you will get immediate feedback on your answers.
For writing and speaking tasks, I will mark and return them within the online portal.
4. How long do I have access to the online material?
UNLIMITED ACCESS.
Once you have completed a module or the entire course you can review the content via the online portal.
5. Do I need a computer to access the self-study course?
No, you can download the app and practice on your mobile. So, you really can learn anywhere, anytime.
6. Will I get a certificate at the end?
Yes, you will get a certificate of attendance if you attend and complete at least 65% of the course.
7. Do the courses include exams?
No, not official exams. You have to book them separately, here is the link for IELTS:
https://www.ielts.org/for-test-takers/book-a-test
Be sure to check in advance as there are limited spaces and dates available.
8. Are there a minimum amount of hours I have to buy for private lessons?
Yes, it depends on the course, your level, and what your aims are.
You can pay for a trial lesson and then decide to buy a group of lessons.
I usually recommend 10-12 sessions which can be split into 1 hour 30 minutes or 2-hour lessons.
9. What is your teaching style?
I believe students should do most of the talking, so I ask you to do tasks before class then we work on these topics.
In group sessions, I act as a facilitator guiding discussion and correcting any significant errors.
The courses are based on the idea of micro-learning.
Research shows that we can only concentrate for small periods of time.
The modules are split into 15-20 minute tasks that have a logical order allowing you to learn in chunks.
The exceptions are the mock tests and writing exercises, which replicate an exam situation to train your time management skills.
