Hi, I'm Nicole.
I’m an English tutor in Amsterdam, with more than 10 years of international teaching experience.
I work with adults through private English lessons, speaking workshops, and English exam preparation.
I also create Amsterdam Experiences for people who want to explore the city with local guidance and support.

I've created interactive material for you to practise at home, so you can revisit it anytime and move at your own pace. In our face-to-face sessions, we focus on real communication, with lots of speaking practice, gentle correction, and clear feedback. You will also receive a progress report so you can see what you are doing well and what to focus on next.
My students.
I teach adults from all over the world, with very different reasons for learning English.
Some want to feel more confident speaking. Some need English for work, university or an exam. Some have just moved to the Netherlands. Others have studied English for years but still find it difficult to use what they know when they speak.
I’ve also worked with multilingual and neurodivergent learners, people returning to study after a long break, and students who simply need a different way of learning.
The goal is not for everyone to learn in the same way. It’s to find the way that helps you move forward.
Why I love teaching. Simple. My students.
I like people. I like hearing their stories, finding out why they need English and helping them reach the point where something that used to feel difficult becomes easier. Sometimes that’s passing an exam. Sometimes it’s speaking in a meeting, making friends, dealing with everyday life in English or finally joining a conversation instead of staying quiet.

Beyond the classroom.
Teaching English has always been about more than worksheets and grammar for me. Sometimes the best way to use a language is simply to go somewhere and do something with it. That’s also why I create Amsterdam Experiences. For some students, they’re a chance to use English while exploring the city. Others already speak English confidently and simply want my help choosing places, planning experiences and discovering Amsterdam.

I’m originally from the UK and have lived and taught in Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands.
Amsterdam has been home for many years, and today I work mainly with adults living, studying and working internationally.
